Steps For Making Chicken Barra Recipe

Ingredients
  

For Marination

  • ½ kg Chicken Pieces
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Brown Onion Paste (fried onion)
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves & Green Chili Paste
  • ½ Cup Yogurt
  • ¼ tbsp Chat Masala Powder
  • ½ tbsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
  • ¼ tbsp Garam Masala Powder
  • ¼ tbsp Cumin Powder
  • ¼ tbsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
  • Salt To Taste

For Gravy

  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1-2 Bay Leaves
  • 2 Green Cardamom
  • 1 tbsp Cumin (Shahi Jeera)
  • 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 Medium Size Onion (fine chopped)
  • 2 Medium Size Tomato (fine chopped)
  • 4 tbsp Fresh Cream
  • 4 tbsp Yogurt
  • 12 Cashews Paste
  • ½ tbsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ tbsp Kasuri Methi
  • ½ tbsp Coriander Powder
  • ¼ tbsp Cumin Powder
  • ¼ tbsp Garam Masala Powder
  • Water as required
  • Salt To Taste

Instructions
 

For Chicken

  • In a bowl add chicken with all marination ingredient that mentions above and mix it.
  • Leave it a minimum of 1 hour for marination.
  • After marination, we need to cook it on barbeque or tandoor.
  • But if you don't have barbeque or tandoor then you can also cook in pan or oven.

For Gravy

  • In a pot add oil, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, cumin, green cardamom, ginger garlic paste, onion, and cook it till ginger garlic paste raw flavor gone.
  • Add red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt and stir it.
  • Now add tomatoes and cook it till totally mashed.
  • Add yogurt and continuously stir it till boil.
  • After boil adds cashew paste and stirs it for a minute.
  • Add cooked chicken pieces and stir it. Now add cream and again stir it.
  • Now add water as required and put the lid on it for 4-6 minutes.
  • Now your Chicken Barra is ready to serve.

Notes

  • If you don't cook chicken pieces in tandoor or barbeque then you must need to use the dhungar method.
  • Don't add too much water because its gravy is a little bit thicker.
