Everybody has their favorite recipe. Like the recipe, they think no one else can ever make in the world. And if I am taking bout my one of that favorite recipe is my favorite recipe is chicken curry. I have always been fond of making chicken curry and even today, When I visit on my friends or relatives home chicken curry has always been my duty. People often ask me what secret ingredient I add in chicken curry. I don’t share my recipe with anybody, why should I share if they don’t ask me. I am sharing my chicken curry recipe with you guys. It is not a difficult recipe.
One more thing, chicken masala recipe, and Chicken curry are the different recipes. The name explains their difference i.e.chicken masala is a chicken that cooks in masalas and it has no curry. But on the other hand chicken curry has a gravy.
Easy Steps For Making Chicken Curry At Home

- Pressure Cooker/Pan
Ingredients
For Marination
- 700 gm Chicken Pieces
- ½ Cup Curd
- ½ tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 3 Green Cardamom Pods
- 3 Cloves
- Salt To Taste
For Curry
- 3-4 tbsp Mustard Oil
- 1 Black Cardamom crushed
- 1 inch Cinnamon Stick
- 3-4 Bay Leaves
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 3 Cloves
- 3 Ginger Garlic Paste
- 5-6 Medium Onions finely chopped
- ¼ tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
- 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
- 4-5 tbsp Medium Tomatoes finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Fresh Coriander finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Everest Chicken Masala use any brand
- Salt To Taste
Instructions
For Marination
- In a bowl, add chicken, curd, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, green cardamom pods, cloves, and salt.
- Mix it properly and leave it for a minimum of 1 hour for marination.
For Curry
- Take a pan, add oil, black cardamom, bay leaves, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick.
- Saute for one minute or until it fragrant.
- Now add ginger garlic paste, chopped onion and saute until its turn brown.
- Now add turmeric powder, salt, coriander powder, red chili powder, and cook it for 2-3 minutes. At this stage, add a little bit of water for mixing masalas.
- After that add marinated chicken and stir it for 5-7 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes, mix well and cover for until tomatoes cooked or leave their oil.
- At this stage, we add garam masala, Everest chicken masala and cook it for one minute.
- Now add water approx 3-4 cups and cook it for 5 minutes.
